The challenge
We were contacted by a global FTSE 100 company and car manufacturer to provide independent mediation services at one of their sites in Coventry. An employee, on long-term sick leave due to stress, cited a poor relationship with their line manager as a contributing factor. Despite an internal investigation, no resolution was reached, so they turned to HR Caddy for assistance.

The solution
Our experienced mediator spoke with both parties separately to understand their perspectives and desired outcomes. A face-to-face session was then arranged, marking the first meeting between them in months. Our mediator ensured ground rules were in place to create a “safe environment,” allowing each person to speak without interruption. While both held strong views, our mediator maintained neutrality, focusing the discussions on finding a way to move forward. By facilitating open dialogue, acknowledging past issues, and guiding them towards a shared resolution, our mediator helped establish a constructive path forward.
